Metal roofing
We design, fabricate and install metal roofing for industrial warehouses, buildings, retail premises, sports halls and refurbishments. We deliver new roofing on shop-built steel structures, replace old roofing (including certified asbestos removal) and carry out targeted repairs with flashings, skylights and smoke vents.
Types of metal roofing we install
Not all metal roofing is the same. Each solution strikes a balance between cost, insulation, maintenance and installation speed. These are the most common options and the criteria for choosing one over another:
- PIR/PUR sandwich panel: two steel sheets with an insulating core, ready in a single layer, ideal for industrial and agri-food warehouses
- Lacquered corrugated sheet with insulation fitted on site: more economical, requires periodic maintenance, common in agricultural warehouses
- Three-component deck: composite steel sheet + mineral wool blanket + waterproofing membrane, high thermal and acoustic performance
- Tile-effect or standing-seam roofing for residential or landmark buildings
- Self-supporting roofing (no purlins) for large spans
- Translucent polycarbonate roofing for warehouses and car parks
Sandwich panel, corrugated sheet and deck: when to choose each
The sandwich panel is the most widespread option in modern industrial warehouses. It arrives on site with the insulation already built in, installs quickly and provides a clean finish both outside and inside. It comes in thicknesses of 30, 40, 50, 60 and 80 mm with a polyurethane (PUR) or polyisocyanurate (PIR) core, the latter being more fire-resistant.
Corrugated sheet with on-site insulation is the most economical option to start with, but it requires fitting the insulation on site (mineral wool blankets) and an interior ceiling if a clean finish is wanted. It remains common in agricultural warehouses, unconditioned stores and low-cost refurbishments.
The deck is the highest-performing system. Its three layers (steel sheet, insulation and waterproofing membrane) work dry, without steep slopes, with very high thermal insulation and excellent acoustic behaviour. It is used in large-span warehouses, sports halls, landmark buildings and wherever the roof must take foot traffic, vegetation or equipment loads.

Roofing for warehouses, buildings and premises
In new industrial warehouses, the roofing is designed in parallel with the structure and installed immediately after completing the first phase of portal frames. In mixed-use buildings (offices, logistics warehouses with an administrative mezzanine), we combine sandwich panel in industrial areas with deck or flat roofing in the service areas. In retail premises and refurbishments, the most common approach is to replace old roofing (asbestos cement, fibre cement, single-skin sheet) with modern insulated roofing, keeping activity running on the ground floor wherever possible.
Thermal insulation, acoustic insulation and watertightness
The roof's thermal insulation is one of the factors with the greatest impact on a building's energy consumption. With a 60-80 mm sandwich panel, thermal transmittances (U) below 0.30 W/m²K are achieved, a common CTE requirement for industrial use. Acoustic insulation depends on the weight of the envelope and on how airborne and impact noise are managed: deck with a dense blanket comfortably outperforms the standard sandwich panel.
Watertightness is resolved with specific fixings (self-drilling screws with EPDM gasket), ridge, eaves, corner and valley flashings, and targeted seals at service penetrations. On low-pitch roofs or those at risk of pooling, we fit an additional waterproofing membrane beneath the main material.
Skylights, smoke vents and complementary elements
A modern industrial roof is not just flat material: it integrates elements for natural light, ventilation and fire safety. The most common are:
- Cellular polycarbonate skylights, individual or continuous, for natural light
- Individual rooflights for specific areas
- Smoke vents (SHEV), mandatory in many industrial uses
- Roof lifeline for safe maintenance
- Gutters, downpipes and overflows sized to local rainfall
- Technical walkways and step treads for HVAC or solar installers
Replacement of old roofing
A significant part of our roofing work is the replacement of old roofing, especially fibre-cement (asbestos cement) roofs still found on many warehouses from the 1970s and 1980s. We work with RERA-licensed contractors for asbestos removal, handle the official paperwork and, once the old roof has been removed, install the new one in sandwich panel, sheet or deck.
- Prior inspection and fibre-cement removal plan
- RERA-licensed asbestos contractor
- Temporary shoring where the structure requires it
- Replacement with sandwich panel, sheet or deck depending on use
- Final removal certificate and new roofing
